HP Academy Strengthens Our Future
With the establishment of HP Academy and our collaboration with University of the Western Cape, we are taking important steps toward financial independence and lasting impact. Our first programme, Mental Health Level 5, developed by Dutch board member Dr. Marcus Teunissen, is expected to receive accreditation from the university this autumn, thanks in part to Dr. Sahar Abdul-Rasool.
Second HP Academy Programme: Health Promotion Officer
At the same time, work is underway on a Health Promotion Officer Level 3 training programme, developed by Dr. Sahar Abdul-Rasool in collaboration with board members Dr. Bridget Langa and Professor Honjiswa Conana. What do we hope to achieve with HP Academy? Read more about our plans and our dream of establishing a health centre in Stellenbosch.
Building a Sustainable Future
Over the past years, our foundation has relied entirely on donations. While we are deeply grateful for the support we receive, this dependence also creates uncertainty. In a constantly changing world, we believe it is essential to build a sustainable future for both our organisation and the people we support in the townships of South Africa.
That is why we have taken an important step: the creation of HP Academy. Alongside our foundation, we are establishing a social enterprise focused on developing and delivering high-quality education in mental and physical health. The revenues generated by HP Academy will directly support the continuation of our foundation and our healthcare projects in South African townships.
Partnership with the University of the Western Cape
Since 2025, we have been working closely with the University of the Western Cape. We are currently in the final phase of accrediting the Mental Health Level 5 programme. Developed by Dr. Marcus Teunissen, this will become HP Academyโs first officially accredited course, with a planned launch in autumn 2026.
Through this programme, we aim to equip healthcare professionals and practitioners with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills to make mental health more accessible and easier to discuss.
Second Programme: Health Promotion Officer Level 3
In addition, significant progress is being made on the development of our second programme: Health Promotion Officer Level 3. This course is being developed by Dr. Sahar Abdul-Rasool in collaboration with Dr. Bridget Langa and Professor Honsjie Conana.
The programme is designed to train individuals to take an active role in health education, prevention, and awareness within their own communities. In doing so, we invest not only in knowledge but also in local leaders who can create meaningful change.
Ready for the Future
The development of HP Academy is far more than just an idea. A comprehensive business plan is already in place, outlining our growth strategy, educational programmes, and long-term vision. Our objective is clear: to build a financially healthy organisation that generates sufficient income to reduce dependence on donations while sustainably advancing our social mission.
To accelerate this ambition, we are seeking investors and partners who believe in the power of prevention, health education, and social impact. With the right investment, we can expand our educational offerings, accelerate our growth, and move more quickly toward financial self-sufficiency.
A major advantage is that, through our partnership with the University of the Western Cape, we already have access to a promising market. Several university faculties have expressed interest in the programmes currently under development. This creates a strong connection with higher education from the outset and provides a clear target audience for our courses. The partnership enhances both credibility and quality while creating excellent opportunities for sustainable growth.
For investors, this means supporting not only a socially relevant initiative but also an enterprise built on strong academic foundations, strategic partnerships, and a clearly identified market need.
Investing in Quality and Security
Alongside curriculum development, we are currently working on a comprehensive marketing strategy to successfully position HP Academy in the marketplace. Significant attention is also being given to digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. As education, student administration, and communication increasingly take place online, we believe it is essential to invest in a secure and reliable digital environment from the very beginning.
Everything is being carefully developed to ensure that HP Academy is ready for the future. We are building not only high-quality educational programmes but also a professional, sustainable, and future-proof organisation capable of supporting the foundation and its projects for years to come.

A Dream That Reaches Further
HP Academy is more than an educational institution. It is an important step toward a much larger dream: the creation of a health centre in Stellenbosch.
We envision a place where health, knowledge, and community come togetherโa centre that hosts courses, seminars, and training programmes, as well as awareness campaigns and health promotion events. Activities could include Breast Cancer Awareness Week initiatives, mental health awareness days, prevention programmes, community events, and opportunities for collaboration between professionals, students, and local residents.
This health centre will become an inspiring environment where people learn, grow, and work together to create a healthier future for all. A place where knowledge is not only shared but where real investment is made in the health and resilience of the community.
The revenues generated by HP Academy will play a significant role in making this dream a reality. Additional investments would allow us to accelerate the process and more quickly establish a centre capable of making a lasting impact on the health of thousands of people in South Africa.
With HP Academy, we are laying the foundation for that future todayโa future in which the foundation is no longer entirely dependent on donations but supported by a sustainable business model that enables long-term impact.
Together, we are building health, opportunity, and hope for the next generation.
